Draft for legal review
This document is an implementation draft written to match how the product actually behaves. It has not been reviewed by a qualified lawyer and must not be relied on as legal advice. Items marked or are unresolved.
1. How to submit a §512(c) notice
Email legal@zdefence.com with: (a) your physical/electronic signature; (b) identification of the copyrighted work (URL/registration where available); (c) identification + location (URL) of the allegedly infringing material; (d) your contact (name, address, phone, email); (e) good-faith-belief statement; (f) accuracy + authority statement under penalty of perjury. Incomplete notices may be returned for completion.
2. What we do, counter-notice and repeat infringers
We expeditiously remove/disable access to allegedly infringing material, notify the provider where identifiable, and document in audit_events. Counter-notice must contain the §512(g)(3) elements (signature, material + location before removal, consent to jurisdiction, etc.); we restore in 10-14 business days unless the complainant sues. [LEGAL REVIEW REQUIRED] Counter-notice handling and the repeat-infringer termination policy must be confirmed with counsel before any UGC/marketplace launch. Misrepresentations are punishable under §512(f).
3. Trademark and non-copyright IP
For trademarks/logos, email legal@zdefence.com with ownership proof, the misuse URL, and the confusion explanation. Version 0.9.0-draft, last updated 2026-10-02.
